Scrolled Memory, 2020

What are memories other than fabricated realities? In this series, I took a video screen recording of my camera roll, twitter, Facebook and Instagram feed that consists of moments of captured memories. They became obsolete in my phone drive as it is rare for me or anyone else to check back on those photos or they are lost through endless scrolling. They become a dead shrine that are there but ignored. As to activate those memories, the videos were implemented on TikTok where built in filters were used and then it was added to Instagram where additional effects and filtering where used. The glitch and tapping sound of my fingers scrolling became an archival memory on the Instagram feed. The works became alive once you click on them to play.

The work is exhibited as a five channel video installation.
